Hubsan Quadcopters

Hubsan QuadcoptersHubsan is a Chinese manufacturer of toy airplanes, helicopters and quadcopters. These unique toys are great for anyone who enjoys small flying objects.

Hubsan has gained a foothold in the toy copter market mostly due to the incredible reliability of their products.

Hubsan quadcopters and hexacopters can be flown in various conditions, and even survive crashes from relatively low heights.

Hubsan Micro Quadcopter 2.4 GHz

The 2.4 GHz Quadcopter is an excellent model from Husban, and is a huge seller on Amazon and other online stores. This is a fairly solid item, yet is more suitable for flying on calm days. Too much wind may knock the Quadcoptor off its intended course. This is a great product for kids aged 9 to 12. The Hubsan X4 is controlled by an advanced remote system, which allows for 360 degree movement and instant control recognition. The micro quadcopter is a lot smaller than the regular versions. This makes it more suitable for younger children, but it also means that it is easily susceptible to being damaged through accidental falls or inclement weather conditions.

Hubsan X4 Quadcopter

The newest model of the Hubsan X4 comes with an advanced six axis flight control system, adjustable gyro sensitivity, 4 flipping motions, and a USB charging cable that allows for computer charging. With bright LED lights on the quadcopter’s body, it is possible to fly this little beauty at night.  Users have reported that it is difficult to control the Hubsan X4 during the first few tries. However, a few days of use and you will have the hang of it. For this reason, it is recommended that kids or adults do not fly the quadcopter outdoors for the first few days. Get used to the controls, its sudden motions, and the other features before taking it to an outdoor environment.

Hubsan X4 with HD 2MP Camera

This is a very similar machine to the one described above, with the only change being the addition of a 2 megapixel camera. The camera has to be turned on before flight begins, and the copter has a flight time of around seven minutes. Charging this model takes around 40 minutes, which is extremely efficient.  Videos from the camera are clear and accurate in their detail, but it is a shame that the receiver does not have a LCD screen to view the video in real time.

Hubsan SpyHawk FPV RC Plane w/ 3.5 inch LCD Monitor/Controller

For those who are a fan of planes instead of copters, and want to do some serious video recording, there is the Hubsan SpyHawk Plane. This plane has a 5.8 GHz FPV system that has a recording module and a 4 GB memory card for storage. The 3 axis flight stabilization system makes it very easy to control with the two pronged control system.  The controller is rather large, and contains a 3.5 inch LCD screen. This screen can be used to adjust settings on the plane, and for viewing video through its camera in real time.  The assembly on this product is slightly complicated, and will require an adult’s assistance. Similarly, the controls and navigation are difficult to master at first. However, an hour or so after playing around with this and you will be familiar with how everything works.

Not all Hubsan models come with built in cameras, but it is possible to attach a portable spy cam to every Hubsan quadcopter. Adding the camera can be very useful, because it is possible to record every second of the quadcopter’s flight. Many people will use quadcopter’s to film scenes for short movies or personal video projects.
